Trained in both fine art and costume design/construction, Gwendolyn has worked as a professional costume technician for theatre, film/TV, and living history since 2010.
In 2009 she graduated with her BFA in Illustration from Grand Valley State University; and afterwards worked for several years as a tailor and first hand in the costume design center at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. In 2013 she headed off to Scotland, where she graduated with an MFA in Performance Costume from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. While in the UK, some of her work credits include Outlander (Seasons 1 & 2), Canned Laughter (tour), Perth Theatre, Tide (BAFTA nominated short film) and others.
Freelance life and family brought her back to the US; where she worked as a draper in the Chicago area for Paramount Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, and Threadline Studios.
Currently, Gwendolyn is based out of the Phoenix area in Arizona, where she works as costume coordinator senior at Arizona State University; teaching costume construction labs and heading up the workroom as draper for Theatre and Dance productions.
